COVID Booking terms and Conditions from September 2021 - current
to be read in conjunction with our standard Booking Terms and Conditions 

We have been in the catered chalet holiday business in Les Gets for 27 years.  Whilst this year’s COVID pandemic has been unprecedented for all of us, using Jane’s extensive experience in infection control and as an ICU nurse and adhering to government guidelines, we have successfully introduced measures to ensure social distancing and the highest standards of hygiene and disinfection at Chalet Bluebell.   We have successfully used these protocols throughout the Summer season and will continue to do so for the winter season.

We realise that our customers will appreciate flexibility when booking their well-earned ski holiday for this coming season.  In recognition of this, from now and continuing through Winter 2021/22 and for summer 2022 we are offering fully flexible booking terms.

Our flexible COVID-19 booking terms will be in place through Winter 2021/22 and Summer 2022

We offer the assurance that monies will not be forfeited if your holiday booking is disrupted for any of the following reasons:

1. You are unable to travel due to quarantine measures.  This will apply in the following circumstances:

  1. You are not permitted to leave your home address during the period of your holiday booking.
  2. You would have to quarantine for more than 2 days when entering France from your home country
  3. You would have to quarantine for more than 2 days when returning from France to your home country
  4. Your Government’s and/or Foreign Office’s advice states that you are advised not to travel and/or are forbidden to travel to France during the period of your holiday.
  5. Local advice from the Haute Savoie Prefecture prevents you from staying in our Chalets during the period of your holiday booking. A pro-rata refund will be made if your holiday is interrupted.
  6. Our Chalet is closed due to an outbreak of COVID-19 during the period of your holiday with a pro-rata refund if your holiday is interrupted.
  7. Due to Covid, quarantines and any closures all monies will be refundable by us, however, should only 1 or 2 people in your party suddenly develop Covid and can’t travel then we would NOT expect the whole group to cancel and therefore deposit would not be refunded this is all at discretion of the owners.

In line with our current booking terms and conditions, we require a €200 euro deposit per person to confirm your booking. Your deposit payment is normally non-refundable and non-transferable, but in light of the uncertainties due to COVID restrictions ahead, if you are affected by any of the circumstances in clauses 1. to 4. above, we will transfer your deposit payment to a new booking date either later in the current season or in the next season, or if you prefer we will issue a full refund of your deposit.

Your final balance payment of the holiday price will be due 8 weeks before you are due to arrive.  Once the final balance payment of the holiday price has been made you will still be able to cancel your existing booking if the circumstances specified in paragraphs 1 to 4 above apply. You can either transfer your holiday payment to a new booking date or receive a full refund of your holiday payment.

This means your booking deposit payment and your final holiday balance payment can be transferred to any other available dates from winter 2021 up to the end of 2023 if your cancellation is due to the events in paragraphs 1 to 4 above.

We are offering these new COVID-19 specific booking terms relating only to the payment to us for your holiday and in the specific circumstances described in clauses 1 - 4 above. It is a condition of our general booking terms that you have adequate insurance cover and you must carry this cover for all other risks. We will not be liable for any other uninsured risks. All other holiday booking terms and conditions remain the same as per our general terms and conditions. We are aware that it is unlikely you will be able to get travel insurance that covers your holiday cost due to COVID related circumstances.  “MPI Brokers” are offering insurance cover if you fall sick with COVID-19 before or during your holiday.

All monies are held in a secure account that we can only access to refund you.

COVID Sanitation and Health and safety

You will be required to present your Health Pass (Pass Sanitaire) on arrival at Chalet Bluebell.

We always maintain a very high level of cleanliness in our chalet.

We have invested in an electrostatic sprayer which after COVID sanitation cleaning gives extra confidence in full disinfection especially around all high contact areas such as light switches and door handles.

Social distancing will be enforced and will be particularly relevant during mealtimes.

In order to comply with social distancing requirements, we have available an extra dining room and an extra breakfast sitting.

IF you should feel unwell with COVID type symptoms - you MUST inform Jane Sayer immediately and go and get a test at The Pharmacy in Les Gets.  Should you test positive, you would have to remain in your room during your stay (any other guests in your room would have to isolate too) and we would require you to leave Chalet Bluebell at the end of your planned stay.  We would serve your meals in your room for the duration of your pre-booked stay.  Should this happen - Refunds or credits would be at the discretion of Chalet Bluebell

More information will be made available to you when you arrive or can be provided on enquiry to us at any time.  All our staff will wear face masks in line with local government and resort advice.  We ask all guests to wear masks when moving around the chalet, as well as requiring all guests to regularly wash their hands and use the hand sanitisers available in and around the chalet and in all rooms.

This is our current policy and should there be any changes to the UK or French Government policies regarding COVID-19, our policy will be updated accordingly and apply from when the new Governments policies come into force.
