Annecy, Haute Savoie

Visit this wonderful 12th century medieval town in the Haute Savoie. Annecy has the 3rd largest lake in Europe with an ancient chateau and the unique Palais d’Isle – an old Medieval prison.  Wander along the boardwalk around the lake, or picnic in the park and take in the amazing views all around.  Sometimes called "Venice of the Alps", this idyllic description comes from the two canals and river running through the old city. A twice-weekly market and many interesting boutiques, galleries and restaurants.

One of the most beautiful villages in France. Narrow streets lead to the Lake side water and an abundance of flowers brightly colour the medieval buildings. Within the ramparts and the fortified gates lies the impressive 14th century castle and over 700 years of History plus the enthralling Garden of the Five Senses.
